BRIDGE PRACTICE

Michael Baker International has addressed bridge design, construction and preservation challenges with innovative and sustainable solutions. DESCRIPTION

As part of our Structural Engineering Team, the Technical Manager will work on bridge projects and develop innovative, practical solutions to various bridge design, load rating, and inspection work. In this role you may perform QA reviews of plans and inspection reports, design and analysis of bridge repair/rehabilitation projects, and technical reviews and evaluations of various client bridge inspection manuals and practices and provide recommendations for improvement and update said manuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the Regional and National Bridge Inspection Practice Leads and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Be part of a dynamic national team responsible for improving bridge inspection practices and safety within the United States.
  • Task Manage various areas of personal expertise in the bridge and tunnel safety inspection arena.
  • Task Manage bridge repair projects for local and regional clients.
  • Help prepare technical and cost proposals to win work.
  • Potential to develop materials for FHWA/NHI courses in bridge and tunnel safety inspection, if interested.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 15 - 20 + years of experience in bridge safety inspection and bridge repair.
  • P.E. license required.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office),
  • Familiar with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS)
  • Familiar with National Tunnel Inspection Standards (NTIS) is a plus.
  • Familiar with Bridge Management Software (BMS) systems, the more the better.
  • Familiar with SCDOT Bridge Inspection Guidance Document is a plus.
  • Familiar with SCDOT Load Rating Guidance Document is a plus.
  • Familiar with SCDOT Bridge repair projects and scopes is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $48.00- $101.00 hour. This will be dependent on the location, experience and expertise of the incoming candidate
