Job Title: Plumbing Assembler Level 2

SUMMARY:

Plumbing Assemblers assist in the building of the pump for the fire trucks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

  Ability to perform all duties performed by Plumbing Assembler Level 1 and:
• Set up pump - assure quality weld
• Build and install deck gun pipe
• Build and install cross lays
• Build and install Speedlays
• Install and hook up Foam Pro foam system
• Mount tank
• Install direct tank fill hose
• Install dump valves
• Install drive shafts and locate and install hanger bearings as needed
• Install pump house heater
• Install chrome adaptors for discharges
• Install tank level sight tube
• Mount pump module to frame and truck
• Install flowmeters
• Install Eductor Foam system
• Install reconnects for hose mountings
• Self-check work and inspect prior processes
• Meet production goals
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Initiate process improvements when able
• Work near customer, as needed
• Operate any equipment or tools needed to perform the job
• Assist other team members and departments as needed
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Recent certification for welding code ASTM B31.3 highly desirable
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools
• Demonstrated pipefitting knowledge and skills
• Effective use of conventional and precision measuring instruments
• Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to maintain attendance within company guidelines
• Ability to retain and apply instructions

• Work overtime on short notice

• Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The associate frequently is required to talk or hear. The associate is required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crawl over, under and around equipment. The associate is required to frequently work from a ladder or at heights up to 11 feet off the ground. May be exposed to vibration.

The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds frequently, move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
