Telecom Analyst
INTERACTION
- Reports to Manager of Network Engineering.
- Extensive interaction with IS staff and management, as well as the Network Engineering & Telecom team members.
- Extensive interaction with various people throughout the company, including store personnel and other corporate center departments in support of location and personnel connectivity needs.
- Extensive interaction with the Bealls Technology PMO for project management.
- Extensive interaction with corporate communications vendors.
EXPECTATIONS FOR SUCCESS
- The Telecom Analyst’s role is to maintain, support and develop network and telephony connectivity solutions across the corporate and store locations.
- The Telecom Analyst will actively participate in the data / voice / Internet circuit procurement, installation, and decommissioning processes across the Beall Enterprise.
- Responsible for maintaining relationships with Beall’s communications vendors.
- The Telecom Analyst will proactively monitor connectivity solutions and routinely seek out renewal / replacement options to support the business.
- Work as a part of the Network Engineering & Telecom teams assisting in the design, development, configuration, and maintenance of Bealls corporate and store network and telephony systems.
- Acquire knowledge and skills in support of the mission of Network Engineering & Telecom.
- Create and maintain up to date documentation of connectivity solutions across the enterprise. This includes (but is not limited to) maintaining active database records of the entire connectivity lifecycle based on location and needs.
- Support and maintenance of the Beall’s mobile/cellular vendor relationship, equipment, and service plans.
- Monitoring, maintenance, and processing of communications vendor billing/invoicing.
- May recommend purchasing equipment to maintain the network and voice systems overseen by Network Engineering and Telecom.
- Assist Network & Telecom support needs with routine end user “MACD” tasks.
- May monitor equipment function and health to ensure optimal performance in conformance with specifications.
- Participate in an on-call rotation / Perform work during non-business hours as requirements or business needs dictate.
- Project management tool (Daptiv) administration for IT Infrastructure projects.
- Log and report work as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KEY ATTRIBUTES
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required; college degree is preferred.
- Familiarity with enterprise network technologies & connectivity solutions
- Cellular support
- Broadband connectivity
- Internet terminology
- Experience with creating and maintaining relevant documentation.
- Expertise working with industry best practices.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have adequate vision, speech, hearing and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must have full body rotation and mobility (i.e., bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, etc).
- Must have full arm and hand usage to operate and move equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
