- The Boeing Company is looking for an Associate Instrumentation Technician with a good understanding of sensors and data acquisition systems to join our team in one of the following locations:
- Tukwila, WA
- Seattle, WA
This role will primarily support testing in the Propulsion and Fuels Laboratory of the Boeing Test & Evaluation organization but may also support testing in the Aerodynamics or Noise Laboratories. BT&E is constantly finding more innovative and affordable ways to ensure Boeing products meet the highest levels of safety, quality and reliability. At BT&E we test and validate a large variety of commercial and military products. Our team is focused on safely providing the highest value instrumentation solutions to conduct our testing. Our team design and operate data acquisition systems to support a wide variety of propulsion, fuel and burn tests with various sensors.
This position is for 1st shift; however, various shifts, nights, weekends, alternate shifts may be required to meet business needs.
Position Responsibilities:
- Supports activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components and materials
- Develops simple test checklists to perform testing
- Integrates and operates instrumentation, data acquisition, and control systems to achieve test requirements that encompass the full spectrum of testing
- Reviews and validates test data
- Verifies collection of complete data set
- Supports the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities
- Assists in the development of test procedures, and instrumentation configuration definition to perform the test within the constraints of the test plan
- Troubleshoots and recommends resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems
- Facilitates systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post-test tear-down
- Conducts routine tests, analyzes data and documents results
- Works under general supervision
- Works with Microsoft Office products
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 1+ years of experience collecting data from multiple sources
- 1+ years of experience in supporting manufacturing or test operations
- 1+ years of experience with reading and interpreting technical documents and/or drawings
- 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with Visio
- Experience in Instrumentation
- Experience with data acquisition systems components
- Experience with sensors, wiring and connectors
- Experience with electrical circuitry
Education/Experience:
- No degree required. Candidates with advanced education such as Associates or an AA with 1+ years related work experience highly preferred
