The Upright Citizens Brigade is home for all things comedy. Whether you’re interested in writing, performing, becoming a stronger public speaker, or just love seeing comedy, UCB has you covered! Our highly trained faculty represents the best writers and performers working in comedy today. The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre was founded by Matt Besser, Amy Poehler, Ian Roberts, and Matt Walsh in 1999 and operates Theaters and Training Centers in New York & Los Angeles. UCB is in the process of reopening its LA & NY operations that were closed at the start of the pandemic.

Upright Citizens Brigade is hiring for part time Theater Tech positions for our UCB Franklin Theater. This position reports to the Technical Director.

Your duties will include operation of sound, lighting and video equipment during shows, stage set up/break down and rehearsing for certain shows.

This position requires comfort around and knowledge of technical equipment as well as problem-solving abilities for any last minute troubleshooting.

Shifts can be between 4-12 hours long and you must be available for one weekday and weekend shift.

Other qualifications:

• Basic ability to operate lighting and sound equipment and video system
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to work 2 shifts a week and to fill in when needed
• Ability to work with/ converse/ rehearse with show runners, directors, producers and performers
• Successful completion of a training session
• Ability to work afternoon/ late night shifts
• Knowledge of QLab, Keynote and PowerPoint
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs, move stage chairs, wooden blocks (30 pounds, and folding tables
• An enthusiasm for comedy

Hourly rate of $30.00 USD
