Boomerangs, an award-winning family of thrift stores owned and operated by the AIDS Action Committee, is currently seeking a dynamic and fun-loving Store Manager to lead the team at our busy thrift store located in Central Square, Cambridge.
As a Store Manager at Boomerangs, you will:
- Provide leadership and direction to your team to ensure they provide exceptional customer service and maintain positive employee relationships.
- Maintain a fully stocked and organized store with creative merchandising.
- Work with General Manager and marketing team to develop and implement marketing and promotion strategies and events.
- Recognize and research potentially valuable donations, and keep them in a safe place until value is determined and sales strategy established.
- Create and organize engaging floor and auction window displays that showcase merchandise, with a focus on unique, antique, and high-value items
- Manage all employees, including but not limited to hiring, training, performance, evaluations and terminations.
- Oversee performance and resources to ensure sales achievement, appropriate staffing and expenditures.
- Represent AAC and Boomerangs at public events.
- Engage in loss prevention.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

- Minimum of two years of retail sales management experience
- Proven track record of driving sales figures.
- Knowledge of current trends and pricing in antiques and collectibles as well as familiarity with current retailers, both discount and high end
- Some holidays and weekends are required. This is a full-time salaried position. Hours will vary depending on season and staffing, with long hours often required August through October.
- Each member of the Boomerangs management team should understand and support the mission of The AIDS Action Committee and be familiar with the programs and services of AAC.

- Prior experience with thrift, consignment, or reselling
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Superior communication skills
