Tool & Die Maker’s in Minneapolis, MN | $30.00 - $33.00/Hour
Our Tool & Die Maker’s workweek is Monday to Friday with hours starting at 07:00 am until 03:30 pm or 03:30 pm until 12:00 am. This job is a Skilled Industrial type position that that pays $30.00 - $33.00/Hour and is a Direct Hire opportunity.
Tool & Die Maker Duties and Responsibilities –
- Plans, designs, constructs, or repairs a wide variety of intricate and complicated tools, dies, jigs, gauges, fixtures, to close tolerances.
- Performs some difficult development work. Constructs complex units where design is available.
- Selects allowances and devises mechanism detail. Does skilled fitting, timing, and adjusting.
- Performs difficult tool room machine operations. This includes CAD/KEY, CNC lathe and other technologies (as these technologies exist or arise) required to perform tool room operations.
- Works from complicated drawings and sketches. Uses advanced shop mathematics and all types of precision measuring instruments. Requires high degree of experience and trade skill and thorough knowledge of machine shop practice.
Tool & Die Maker Requirements and Qualifications –
- 4+ years’ experience as a toolmaker preferred
- This position requires experience as a die toolmaker forming dies; semi-permanent dies; and completing layout work. This position must be familiar with short run stamping tooling through progressive dies..
- Working knowledge of all necessary safety requirements while working in the assembly area.
- Lifting 50lbs
- Standing for long durations of time
- Use hands and fingers to operate hand tools
