The documentation engineering team is responsible for creating world-class developer tools and framework-level support for the documentation workflows in Xcode, Swift Playgrounds, and the developer website. We are looking for a software engineer to join the quality engineering team to help us build the next generation tools of our testing infrastructure. In this role you will work with quality and software engineers, on and outside the team, to build automation for testing various developer tooling products. We believe great engineers are capable of learning new technologies and we value candidates from all experiences and backgrounds. Key Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of software development and the QA lifecycle.
- Experience developing in Python and/or Swift.
- Experience in crafting, writing, and automating test cases for specific features.
- Proven ability to lead a complete functional area of an application or product.
- Good understanding of Git and other system softwares.
- Ability to drive cross-functional communications, understanding dependencies while also ensuring a tight timeline can be maintained.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.

Your responsibilities include: - Design and drive automation efforts to improve the quality of the developer documentation pipeline. - Participate in the team culture and engage in code review, pair programming and architecture discussions with other members of the team. - Work cross functionally with other teams at Apple, to ensure our tools and systems integrate seamlessly. - Write detailed architecture and design proposals.
Education & Experience
BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics (or equivalent experience)
Additional Requirements
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience with iOS, macOS, and Xcode
- Experience developing with the iOS or macOS SDK
- Experience on testing shipping consumer-oriented products
- Passion for Apple products, the documentation user experience and the developer user experience within Xcode
- Familiarity with developing in Apple environments is a plus.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $95,000 and $177,000 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
