Job description
The TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Coordinator will report directly to the Plant Leader and enable the deployment of the Plant TPM Strategy. The role exists because we are driven by the pursuit of zero to be achieved by establishing TPM as the way we run our operations. Working closely with division TPM Team and Plant Team Members; the employee will be responsible for developing the deployment strategy and coaching the team to drive loss elimination across the TPM pillars. This role is to support the organization’s TPM implementation program, communicating with everyone and leading by example to develop the standards, skills and delivery materials required to achieve the organizational objectives through sustainable improvements.
Measures of Success:
- Partnering with employees in all TPM areas to drive engagement, understanding, and expansion
- Drive focused improvement in downtime/slowtime, quality, productivity and reduction of costs during the Journey to JIPM Certification
- TPM Pillar execution
- Measured improvement of the Owens Corning TPM Audit/Assessment Scores
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
SAFETY
- Promote a culture which enables a safe and secure work environment for all employees, contractors and visitors
- Maintain focus on safety in all TPM efforts
- Use TPM methodologies to continue march to zero incidents
- Demonstrate an understanding of and applies the OC Safety Toolkit to drive improvement consistent with the OC culture and strategy
TPM
- Train, coach, and develop all levels of leadership and teams on TPM
- Develop standard operating procedures, standard work, OPLs, and other tools
- Coach employees on the OPL process, including how to complete one, and assist in the ongoing tracking and maintenance of the OPLs for document control
- Coach and champion employees on 5S initiatives
- Educate and coach the team on how to effectively execute lean processes and techniques
- Engage employees in incorporating TPM tools and processes into their areas of responsibility
- Attend all TPM meetings, working with leaders to advance team capabilities in problem solving, critical thinking, and analysis of issues to root cause solutions
- Facilitate problem solving methods
- Drive results of Autonomous Maintenance (AM), steps 1-3 completion
- Lead in representing the plant on TPM operating rhythm calls
- Partner with the T&D training team to create and deliver knowledge-based training on TPM steps
- Establish and support Pillar Leaders to coordinate the expansion and effectiveness of the Nephi site TPM teams
Leadership
- Plan, organize, and coordinate several events and improvement activities at the same time
- Provide guidance and support for problem solving and problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and working relationships
- Give regular feedback to employees and the leadership team on the progress of TPM activities and events
- Able to perform and coordinate administrative tasks relative to any TPM initiatives
- Participate in various training seminars and conferences
- Lead by example in all safety initiatives
- Perform other related duties consistent with the nature of the job, as instructed by Site Leader
SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint and Word
- Ability to facilitate training in various formats
COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES
The employee must be able to:
Operate a computer or other keyboard instrument- Become proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and other job-related software, such as SAP, POP AspenTech, and Minitab
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following:
Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent is required- 2+ years related experience and/or training in an industrial environment
- 2-year degree or higher is preferred, but not required
- Formal training in Lean/Six Sigma is preferred, but not required
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires:
The ability to work varying or 12 hours rotating shifts- Medical certification to wear respirator protection
- Exposure to hot/cold temperatures on a regular basis
- Exposure to continuous noise and able to wear haring protection
- Lifting, carrying/moving up to 50 pounds
- Standing frequently
- Bending occasionally
- Walking continuously
