About the position:
As a Raymond Trade Compliance Specialist, you will be supporting The Raymond Corporation's business operations domestically and internationally by developing and executing the company's import/export processes in areas, such as, classification, valuation, country of origin, and customs broker/3rd party management. Additionally, you will provide international trade compliance support for trade preference program qualifications, admission eligibility, and analysis of various trade issues. The Trade Compliance Specialist will also work cross-functionally with Raymond team members in Procurement, Transportation, and Accounting, as well as, Suppliers around the globe to ensure compliance with U.S. and international import/export regulatory requirements.
- Support global import/export trade compliance activities for Raymond
- Analyze, research, & assign the appropriate HTS, ECCN & Country of Origin
- Maintain & update detailed product master information in the product library
- Create, process, & ensure the accuracy of all import/export documentation
- Identify & administer duty mitigation opportunities
- Work with Procurement to identify all inbound international shipments
- Interface with customs brokers, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and other governmental agencies to ensure compliance
- Maintain required records in accordance with regulatory & internal requirements
- Review & audit USMCA Certificates & communicate findings to all parties for compliance
- Prepare, research, and distribute monthly KPI metric reporting
- Assist in development & maintenance of procedures & manuals for compliance with import/export laws, regulations, & administrative practices
- Create and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) with Raymond brokers
- Support and train internal customers on import/export requirements
About you:
- Bachelor's Degree (Business, Supply Chain, or Intl. Studies); Preferred
- Two or more years of related experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs laws and regulations
- Strong knowledge of HTS/Schedule B classification, customs valuation, & country of origin
- Knowledgeable with Free Trade Agreements and warranty returns
- Customs Certified Specialist (preferred)
- Licensed Customs Broker (or desire to obtain a license)

- Strong interpersonal & communication abilities with good written & verbal skills
- Strong problem solving & analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- Proven ability to interface with cross-functional teams at all levels within the organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams a plus)
- Ability to be a self-starter, prioritize multiple competing tasks; flexible, adaptable, and collaborative and follows through.
About the total compensation package:
Salary - The salary for this position is $57000 – 73000/year
Relocation - This position may qualify for relocation.
