Purpose of the job

Facilitate and conduct training sessions both in-person and virtually.

Activities include developing training content and supporting materials, establishing training schedules/programs, delivering training as well as maintaining the training completion records, and conducting post-session evaluations.

Performs new hire orientation and assist with the onboarding process.

Administer and maintain training and training records for site personnel as required by training procedures.


Job Context

Training Associate will operate within the organizational structure to develop, coordinate and conduct training programs and activities for their respective areas.


Job Content:

Key Areas of Accountability / Responsibility

1. All employees have the responsibility to:

b) Address any person behaving in a SHE and Security irresponsible way.

c) Report any SHE and Security incidents (including observed risks) to management.

Abides by Avient Protective Materials procedures/policies regarding security, inclusive of: employee security agreements; use of non-disclosure agreements with outside parties; control of Avient Protective Materials intellectual property limited to a “need to know” only basis; no unauthorized use of cell phones, cameras, computers or Avient Protective Materials property; reporting security threats and incidents; proper control of Avient Protective Materials property and keys.

5. Participate and provide oversight to the orientation plan for new and returning employees into the organization ensuring that the new or returning employee is adequately prepared to be successful in their assignment.

6. Provide oversight to the Training program of their assigned areas ensuring that training is conducted in a consistent manner across their assigned organization.

7. Develop and deliver advanced training and other technical courses to their assigned organization and ensuring that documentation of training is captured for attending the training session.

8. Ensure training offerings created meet the needs of the business as determined by management.

9. Coordinate training sessions for applicable divisional training and working with other departments such as SHE department and QA Compliance to coordinate other necessary training and associated documentation for all business unit personnel.

10. Populate and maintain all business unit training data in the learning management system.

11. Administer and maintain a job specific training curriculum for each job in the respective area. This includes coordinating annual curricula review with area management and area supervisors. It also includes updating curriculum as needed to add new procedures, courses or other items that are applicable to the job.

12. Utilize training data reports to provide training data to area personnel as needed.

13. Provide training information and documentation as requested and interface with QA compliance, regulatory inspectors and customer auditors on any training questions/audits.

14. Provide monthly report measuring progress against objectives on area unit training activities to manager.

15. It is the responsibility of each employee to work in a safe and responsible manner in order to create an injury-free and incident-free workplace.

16. Comply with all job-related safety and other training requirements.

17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and educational level

BA/BS plus 1 year experience in training, office management or a regulated industry or AAS degree in a scientific discipline plus 2 years experience in training, office management or a related industry or 3 years experience in training, office management or a related industry.


Required level of experiences

Knowledge of LP / Fiber / Medical / or Production Operations.

Knowledge of departmental functions required.

Ability to conduct training classes and facilitate group discussions.

Good analytical, oral/written communication, interpersonal and trouble shooting skills are required.

Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.

Experience in project management, preferred.

Attention to detail.

Ability to adjust and adapt to changing needs.

Proficient in multiple computer applications such as Microsoft Windows applications to include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
