Position Summary: Responsible for conducting training for all staff in the Crisis Services Department, to include the 988/Care Control program, 988 Crisis Chat and Text program, Substance Use Disorders program, Mobile Crisis Team, and Outpatient Mental Health Clinic.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide training and orientation to all incoming staff for the Crisis Services Department.
- Provide training to current staff for the Crisis Services Department for continuous quality improvement.
- Work in conjunction with the Crisis Services Department Leadership team to identify and assess the training needs of the agency.
- Collaborate with the Director of Clinical and Crisis Services and others on the Leadership team to ensure Grassroots staff are equipped with knowledge and skills to carry out their role in a way that ensures family/client driven, culturally competent, strengths based, and outcome focused practice.
- Provide training on established suicide prevention and intervention courses.
- Develop and implement individualized and group training programs that address specific agency needs.
- Develop and implement training materials that are consistent with best practice and effective in preparing staff for their roles.
- Complete all trainings regarding Grassroots electronic health records and phone system.
- Develop training materials for all electronic health records and phone systems; responsible for all trainings for Grassroots electronic health records and phone systems.
- Utilize appropriate and comprehensive training methods.
- Stay abreast of agency performance metrics to ensure that training is meeting agency and staff needs.
- Ensure that all training and development activities are consistent with agency mission and values.
- Effectively communicate with team members and management.
- Manage the technologies required to develop, manage and deliver training.
- Keep abreast of training trends, developments and best practices.
- Provide feedback to the Crisis Services Department Leadership team regarding ongoing support needs of staff.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Crisis Services Department Leadership team regarding planning and implementation of agency-wide training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Agency-wide Responsibilities:
- Reads 100% of all email communications and responds to emails in a timely manner.
- Participates in supervision, in-service training, and staff meetings.
- Maintains good working relationships with co-workers and positively contributes to group morale.
- Completes all administrative duties including time sheets, leave requests, etc. on time.
- Uses appropriate channels of communication to resolve conflicts with other staff.
- Interacts with staff in a professional and courteous manner.
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other mental health related degree.
- Two years of relevant experience in mental health services, preferably in crisis intervention services, suicide prevention and intervention.
- Knowledge of homelessness issues a plus.
- Knowledge of Systems of Care a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently with confidence, as well as work as an integral part of a team of professionals.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Presentation/training skills including small and large group presentations and trainings.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with local and statewide community resources.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Skilled in the use of technology including telephones, computers (PC), laptops, software and email.
Work Conditions:
- Hybrid remote/on-site.
- Hours are flexible to meet program needs.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs.
