Position Summary:
The Training Manager will identify and monitor training needs in the organization, and design, plan, and implement training programs, policies, and procedures to fulfill those needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily activities of training associates and/or contract resources.
- Provides timely and constructive feedback.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement training plans, including creating curricula, identifying instructors, and setting budgets
- Collect and review course evaluations to assess which topics are most relevant to employee needs or which facilitators are most effective in delivering instruction
- Evaluate training programs to ensure they comply with legal requirements and industry standards
- Consult with senior management to determine strategic goals for training programs
- Oversee the implementation of training programs
- Conducting research on new training methodologies and technologies to determine their potential applications in the workplace
- Design training programs that meet specific company goals while also improving employee performance
- Maintain contact with internal clients to identify training needs
- Coordinating with human resources to hire instructors and set schedules for training sessions
- Modify or update training based on training evaluation feedback or updates to processes or procedures
- Track and report training metrics
- Define and document learning objectives.
- Conduct research and collaborate with subject experts.
- Create instructional material: courses, curriculum, participant and facilitator guides.
- Manage contract instructional designers in creating these materials, as needed.
- Design content to optimize learning.
- Create visual, audio and interactive learning tools.
- Manage Learning Management System
- Collaborates with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration and tracking for and participation in outside training programs.
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong graphic design ability.
- Knowledge of LMS, Cornerstone preferred
- Thorough understanding of training processes.
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
- Graphic design knowledge.
- Fundamental understanding of HTML.
- Creativity.
- Enthusiasm for learning
- Computer proficiency (Articulate, Camtasia, Microsoft Office)
- Audio and video editing skills
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Communications, Instructional Design or related area required.
- At least seven years of experience in training with one year of supervisory experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
