Job description
Summary:
Regular hours for this position are Monday thru Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Overtime including working on weekends may be required during peak season. The Transportation Coordinator will assist the Transportation Manager with daily duties related to the processing and shipping of customer orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate commercial deliveries with customers and trucking companies to ensure customer expectations are met
- Assist with general routing of regional drivers
- Fields incoming customers calls regarding delivery schedules
- Sets up LTL shipments as needed
- Assists with Will Call process by processing orders, answering customer questions and other tasks as needed
- Handles all duties correlating with Small Package Shipments
- Data entry, filing and copying – specifically managing the log of all outbound shipments.
- Paperwork creation for drivers – bills of lading
- Process paperwork for the loads in progress
- Send Advanced Shipping Notices and set delivery appointments when needed
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
- Two years’ experience in a logistics role
- Experience working in a manufacturing/distribution environment
- Intermediate knowledge of the transportation industry – rules and regulations.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to be flexible
- Strong customer service skills: taking the initiative to prioritize and complete duties in a timely, professional manner is required
- Ability to work independently and as an active member of a team
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be fluent in English. Conversational or fluent ability to speak Spanish as a second language is desired
- Proficient with MS Office Suite Applications
The pay range for this position is $22.00 – $26.00
