Job Title: Transporter

Pay Rate: $19-$21

Job Summary:

Transporter will be responsible for waking or ensuring that clients are ready for appointments, will ensure clients have medications or current medication lists. Will take notes during medical visits. Reports medical visit results to the program manager and case manager. Store, general errands; transporter may accompany clients into store, to ensure safety, mindful nutrition choices and money management – life skills.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and facilitate transportation for new clients to the shelter, as well as for existing clients to appointments, shopping trips, meetings, and other necessary errands.
• Manage the distribution of medications, including filling weekly medication boxes, maintaining accurate medication logs, and conducting regular medication counts.
• Monitor vital signs for clients and report any relevant information to the program manager and case manager as needed.
• Keep the program manager and case manager informed of any medication shortages, and take necessary steps to ensure that clients continue to receive the medication they need.
• Prepare beds and other living spaces for new clients, and assist with the intake process by helping the case manager with paperwork and other administrative tasks.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files, and assist the case manager with other administrative tasks as needed.
• Ensure that clients are aware of and adhere to all relevant RCP rules and regulations.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be able and willing to work flexible hours which may include evenings or weekends
• Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
• Have reliable transportation and:
• A valid driver’s license
• The ability to qualify for Good Samaritan Shelter insurance coverage

Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:

Tuberculosis Test Background Screening Drug Test

Work Environment

The employee may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using alcohol and drugs, and who may not be attentive to basic personal hygiene, health and safety practices. The employee may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the client’s use of alcohol and drugs, and lack of personal hygiene. The employee must be ready to respond quickly and effectively to many types of situations, including crisis situations and potentially hostile situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in an office setting. Sometimes work may become stressful when working under pressure.
