WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Administers and coordinates services and personnel within Trauma Administration.
Analyzes injury epidemiology and implements community injury prevention programs.
Assists in the coordination of patient care through the appropriate utilization of all resources including staff, equipment, and supplies.
Coordinates management across the continuum of trauma care, including planning and implementation of clinical protocols and practice management guidelines, monitoring care of in-hospital patients, and serving as a resource for clinical practice.
Ensures all requirements are met to meet trauma verification standards consistent with trauma center level.
Manages, as appropriate, the operational, personnel, and financial aspects of the trauma program. Serves as a liaison to administration and represent the trauma program on various hospital and community committees to enhance and foster optimal trauma care.
Monitors clinical processes and outcomes and system issues related to the quality of care provided. Develops quality filters, audits, and case reviews and identifies trends and sentinel events and helps outline remedial actions while maintaining confidentiality.
Participates in the development of trauma care systems at the community, state, or national levels.
Provides for intra-facility and regional professional staff development, participates in case review, implements practice guidelines, and directs community trauma education and prevention programs.
Stabilizes the complex network of the many disciplines that work in concert to provide high-quality care. Serves as an internal resource for staff in all departments.
Supervises collection, coding, scoring, and developing processes for validation of data. Designs the registry to facilitate performance improvement activates, trend reports, and research, while protecting confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited nursing program is required, MSN desirable
3 years of Trauma Nursing Required
3 years of Emergency Nursing Experience Required
1 year of Supervisory Experience Required
1 year of Project Management Required
2 years Management Experience Preferred
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state or as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
Must have Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification from the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA)
Prefer the Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) and Trauma Nursing Core Course Instructor (TNCC) certifications
