Smart Freight Express Inc. is currently looking for a Safety Manager. Experience is office administration is a plus. Applicant must live within a reasonable distance from our office in Griffith, Indiana . This individual would have to also assist the following:

Driver onboarding responsibilities:

• Hold orientations for onboarding truck drivers on safety and company policy
• Manage the updating of truck drivers training records and reports
• Confirm that the drivers application is completed
• Maintaining driver DOT files
• Checking MVR/PSP/Clearinghouse
• Scheduling drug tests and other needed appointments

Safety responsibilities

• Implementing and maintaining safety programs for a company's transportation operations. This can include developing policies and procedures, conducting training and education, conducting investigations and audits, and analyzing data to identify and mitigate risks. The goal is to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of freights, and to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to equipment and property.
• Handling claims and accidents

Requirements:

• From 1-2 years of experience as a trucking/logistics safety manager
• Know DOT regulation

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
