Job Description


JOB SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, schedules surgical procedures for surgeons. Greets and directs patients and visitors effectively and courteously. Monitors appearance of the waiting room and notifies Supervisor of emergencies in the waiting area. Schedules appointments and prepares medical records and billing information prior to the patient being seen by the physician. Provides various support activities for the front office.


Qualifications


Required Qualifications:

  • Education & Training:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology preferred.
  • One (1) year surgical scheduling experience, experience in a customer service environment, or experience in health care/physician practice is required.
  • EMR experience

Preferred Skills & Abilities:

c) maintain discretion with patients

d) respond to emergency situations appropriately

e) effectively function as a member of a collaborative team

f) organize and manage time effectively, setting appropriate priorities

g) adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs; and h) excellent attention to detail
