VETS SECURING AMERICA (VSA) IS SEEKING TO IMMEDIATELY HIRE UNARMED SECURITY OFFICERS FOR THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TX

STARTING RATE: $18/HR

SHIFT: MORNING/SWING/GRAVEYARD OPEN

DAYS: 24/7 ACCOUNT, INFORMATION GIVEN UPON INTERVIEW

Patrol on foot at random intervals the interior and exterior of buildings and grounds, observe state vehicles, document the location, and lock and secure as necessary.

Monitor all security systems including, but not limited to, burglary, fire, and CCTV systems.

Contact appropriate personnel when incoming mail, fax, or carrier delivery is received at the security guard post. TxDOT personnel will be responsible for receipt of such material.

Randomly check all boxes and containers taken out of the building to ensure state property is not removed by unauthorized personnel.

Remain awake and alert to always surrounding area of responsibility. Any personnel sleeping on duty must be replaced within two hours of notification to the vendor by TxDOT

Ensure doors, windows, gates, and garage doors are locked and unlocked as requested by TxDOT.

Complete Electronic daily reports on a computer and ensure all activity occurring during shift is recorded.

Comply with all security measures required by TxDOT.

Not respond to other vendor clients while performing services for TxDOT.

Qualifications:

Have a minimum of one years’ experience within the last three years, including training, as an unarmed security guard.

Be a state of Texas licensed non-commissioned officer.

Have successfully completed the state of Texas approved unarmed security officer training courses.

A high school graduate or hold a GED. 6.3.6. Be computer literate.

Able to stand continuously for up to two hours at a time and up to 12 hours in a 24-hour period.

Able to walk unassisted a minimum of 300 yards, climb stairs, and be able to lift and carry 20 pounds. 6.3.9. Certificated in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Proof of training must be provided to the TCM no later than 60 days after contract execution and within 30 days of hire of any new Security Personnel

Both positions

All personnel who will be driving to and from TxDOT work locations must:

Possess a valid driver license acceptable in the state of Texas.

Have no Driving Under Influence (DUI) or Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) incidents on driving record within the past three years.

Have no more than two moving violations on driving record within the past three years
