Job description

The purpose of this position is to collect and test water samples and install, inspect, test, repair, and replace water meters and backflow devices.

Licensing and Certifications Valid North Carolina Class A Commercial Driver’s License preferred or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire. Failure to obtain within 6 months from date of hire may result in termination. Ability to obtain North Carolina Grade C Water Distribution Certification within six (6) months of hire. Failure to obtain within 6 months from date of hire may result in termination. PLEASE NOTE: Applicants must meet the City’s criteria for an acceptable driving record.

Required Experience: High school diploma or equivalency and at least six-months to one (1) year of advanced study, with at least three (3) years of experience; or the City may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.11 per hour
