Title: UX Variance / Business Analyst

Location: Wabtec; Grove City, PA

Overview:

Wabtec has a need for a Unit Exchange (UX) Variance / Business Analyst. This position would be responsible for analyzing, impacting, and reporting cost activities for the Wabtec Grove City, PA facilities. As such the talent should have a degree in Engineering or Finance with experience in project management and cost analysis. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Description/Details:

Support UX Variance Team in Identification and Tracking of Projects:

• Through UX Variance analysis and production monitoring, identify areas of potential focus for the Life Cycle Cost Management teams.
• Assist in tracking current and upcoming projects as to facilitate implementation and to enhance estimating of UX Variance impact.
• Providing assistance to the Engine, Propulsion, and Mechanical Components Productivity teams where project roadblocks are identified, as to expedite project implementation including execution of time studies.

Assist in Standard Setting Process:

• Participate in training sessions on new standard setting processes
• Assist in standards review process in November/December timeframe

Participate in UX and New Inventory Activities in June and September:

• Participate in inventory activities either by counting, auditing or keypunching
• Assist with Inventory reconciliation efforts if necessary

Provide Fallout Rates for BOM development:

• As new Bills of Material are created, provide fallout rates for component and labor operations
• In general, any support need for the BOM Team including back-up for Change Control Board (CCB) representation

Desired Skills:

• Must be detailed oriented and able to take on new tasks without heavy oversight.
• Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Able to create basic tools (spreadsheets, reports) using standard software such as Access, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Creative with ability to solve problems of low to high complexity to meet customer objectives.
• Experience with creating macros in Excel is a definite plus.
• Some experience with Web-based software engineering tools such as OBIEE or Dataiku
• Some experience with large data handling such as building SQL queries
• Some experience building algorithms/familiarity in coding languages like: MATLAB, Python, C++.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
