Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Value Stream Manager to be based out of De Pere, WI. Reporting to Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for the value stream’s safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity, utilizing lean daily management. This person is also responsible for leading manufacturing supervision to ensure safe and efficient production.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in business, engineering, or related field, or extensive manufacturing management experience as an equivalency. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a requirement.

What you’ll do:

  • Ownership of value stream productivity, including cost analysis and opportunities, equipment up time, quality improvements, and manufacturing productivity.
  • Lead manufacturing supervision to ensure safe and efficient production, to include performance management and professional development.
  • Lead problem-solving activities within team to drive process improvements; participate and lead Kaizen events; implement quick change tooling programs in accordance with SMED practices.
  • Lead development of department budgets and ensure they are performed to plan or adjusted as appropriate.
  • Implement and sustain 5S/Visual Factory in work areas.
  • Ensure Kanban and production plan compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop local strategy to achieve business objectives and financial targets.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's in business, engineering, or related field, or extensive manufacturing management experience as an equivalency.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal.
  • Proven knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • SAP experience preferred.

Within 3 months, you’ll:

  • Complete your Atkore Immersion plan.
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.

Within 6 months, you’ll:

  • Manage Targets To Improve (TTI) initiatives for the facility.
  • Familiarize yourself with mill process and secondary equipment.
  • Be responsible for leading your supervision team and helping prioritize work.

Within 12 months, you’ll:

  • Provide advice to plant leadership on what the team is doing well and where there are areas of improvement.
  • Provide meaningful performance coaching to your team while developing a plan for their continued growth.
  • Actively participate in and take the lead on Continuous Improvement plans for the facility.
