ExplorationsPHP is now accepting applications for part-time Van Drivers to provide safe and efficient transportation for students on routes as directed throughout Montgomery County, PA.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid PA Drivers’ License
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record
• Knowledge of safety regulations
• Able to drive all posted routes, as well as perform all physical duties and carry out other responsibilities as assigned
• Three (3) years of any driving experience and a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
• Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and DHS FBI (dated within one year)
• TB Test/Physical (dated within one year)
• Sexual Misconduct/ Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168)
• Pennsylvania Department of Education Form 6004 Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities include operating a school van in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with all Federal and State DOT regulations
• Follow safety regulations and traffic laws
• Maintain student order and discipline in accordance with MCIU guidelines and policies
• Maps out the most efficient routes for each student
• Perform all pre and post trip vehicle inspections
• Follow routes as directed by Program Administrator – Operations
• Maintain route book and complete monthly mileage logs
• Keep van clean and fueled
• Communicate repair needs to transportation staff when needed
• Assist children in and out of the van and their securements, proper utilization of equipment (e.g. car seats, etc.), and/or handling/securing wheelchairs
• Maintain professional interactions with all stakeholders
• Reports all accidents and completes required reports
• Assists when called upon with any emergency
• Attends all required training as assigned by the Supervisor
• Immediately notifies Supervisor of any traffic violations incurred while employed

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and arms to finger, and to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, and occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or lift, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will be subject to outside environmental conditions with moderate noise levels.

Hourly Rate:

$25.00/hour

Work Schedule:

Part-Time, Monday-Friday, mornings and afternoons, hours vary between 10-20 hours per week on average
