Title: Varsity Girls Basketball Coach

Job Location: Paw Paw High School

Reports To: Athletic Director

Job Type: 2023/2024 Season Contract

Minimum Qualifications:

· Must possess High School diploma

· Extensive experience playing basketball

· Successful past coaching experience

· First Aid/CPR certified & CAP 1 and/or CAP 2 certified (prior to season)

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to construct comprehensive off-season programs

· Able to coordinate/teach basketball skills and strategy to build a competitive varsity program

· Strong personal/social skills, with the ability to effectively communicate using a variety of media

Preferences:

· Possesses knowledge of the MHSAA basketball rules and regulations

· Willingness to lead and develop sub-varsity programs to feed a successful varsity team

· Willingness to build positive, meaningful relationships with staff and student body

· Possesses the ability to motivate players and coaches to work toward program philosophy/goals

Job Description:

· Coordinate in-season and out-of-season practice and training opportunities for grades 6-12

· Develop program philosophy and curriculum that builds upon itself from grades 6-12

· Develop cohesive coaching relationships that work to develop coaches and athletes, grades 6-12

· Teach and instruct all aspects of basketball, while working to develop and emphasize positive character traits in all athletes

· Provide coaching, encouragement, and instructional guidance to all athletes & staff in the program from youth-varsity level

Salary/Benefits: Per VBCEA/PPEA, MEA‐NEA contract Schedule C
