Job Overview
Responsible for providing consults, assessment and placement of ultrasound guided peripheral venous access devices (peripheral IV, Midline, PICC line) as well as the surveillance and care and maintenance of these devices. Promotes teamwork with the physicians, nurses and other personnel from all units/areas/departments to assure continuity of care for the venous access device. Assures the nursing process is followed for patients while they are under his/her care. Stays current with standards of practice such as the Nurse Practice Act, through ongoing education relevant to nursing. Promotes and supports the hospitals mission and core values.
Qualifications
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or closely related field, and three to five years of previous work related experience. Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of New Jersey is required. Requires analytical skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment, attention to detail and problem resolution. Must possess strong customer service, communication, organizational & interpersonal skills.
