The Ideal Candidate

The Vendor Managed Sale Representative/Buyer will work with the Territory Manager to grow the Johnston and Murphy business at Dillard's. You will use your skills to monitor and maximize sales. A successful candidate is hard working, self-motivated, wiling to learn and a team player.

How You Will Make an Impact

Reporting
  • Weekly Reporting: Selling reports for J&M Shoes, J&M Collection, Belts, Socks, Apparel and Kids Shoes.
  • Monthly Reporting: Selling reports for J&M Shoes, J&M Collection, Belts, Socks, Apparel and Kids Shoes. Sales reporting for Kids Shoes



Replenishment
  • Work with the Senior VMI Territory Manager to grow the Johnston & Murphy business at Dillard's.
  • Continuously communicate with the Dillard's SCA team regarding J&M selling, events, etc.
  • Continuously monitor Dillard's selling to maximize sales.
  • Continuously monitor slow selling sku's to potentially cancel back up orders, reduce replenishment or reduce the sku's retail to move through goods as profitably as possible.
  • Assist with monthly stock projections.
  • Assist with monthly gross margin projections.
  • Send request by style, by store, by sku for minimum's to be put in place on merchandise selling on a continual basis to raise levels using Dillard's spreadsheet. Every sku that is increased above 1 unit OH comes from a spreadsheet we generate by sku by store by style.
  • Build key styles and stores for Dillard's events (Walk Test, $30 off event, XC4 event, etc.)



Orders
  • Write and key orders for each quarterly buy as well as off-price and additional buys
  • Communicate with J&M customer service on orders being transmitted, changed and shipping status
  • Request PO extensions for Dillard's orders as needed



Price Changes
  • Contribute to style MD decisions for the month/season based on selling and IMAP changes
  • Key Price changes on a Weekly basis into PCSA and send recap to Dillard's management
  • Key cost changes into PCSA and send request to Dillard's mgmt.
  • Work with J&M customer service to assure all cost and retails are correct for all Dillard's orders



Other
  • Pull reports as needed from Dillard's Cognos system
  • Work with Genesco IT on reports for new mic/businesses (i.e.. Apparel, Boys, etc.)
  • Set up and complete event selling recaps as needed
  • Monitor store apparel selling on a weekly basis to determine if replenishment is needed on any items



Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Buying experience is preferred
  • Strong math skills
  • Hard working, self-motivated and willing to learn
  • Team Player
  • Limited travel required. 2 Johnston & Murphy sales meetings per year and up to 6 Dillard's markets per year.
