We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. At Cicero Animal Clinic we are committed to providing high-quality care to our animal patients and exceptional customer service to their owners. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will work closely with our veterinarians to ensure the well-being of our patients and provide excellent support to our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate care to our animal patients, including feeding, walking, and monitoring their health and behavior
• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgeries, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and preparing instruments and equipment
• Communicate with clients to gather information about their pets' health history, answer questions, and provide education on pet care and preventive health measures
• Process payments and maintain accurate medical records using our practice management software
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, order and stock medications and medical supplies, and monitor expiration dates
• Ensure that the clinic is clean, organized, and presentable to our clients and visitors

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is preferred
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment and prioritize multiple tasks
• Comfortable working with animals of all sizes and temperaments
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour
