General Job Description and Duties
Customer Service:
- Answer phones with a polite and welcoming tone
- Take accurate and detailed messages for medical staff
- Accurately schedule appointments
- Follow patient check-in and check-out procedures
- Be able to answer basic questions and/or obtain information on behalf of the client
- Anything else the client needs
Administrative Duties:
- Update and maintain client and patient records
- Monitor appointment schedule
- Oversee reminder system for appointments and health service reminders
- Communicate professionally via email and text
- Invoice and bill clients accurately
Other expectations in the position include some general housekeeping of all areas with extra attention to the lobby and exam rooms both daily and as needed. Additional duties and projects are likely upon request by the manger or other team members.
Qualifications and Skills
This position is the "face" of our veterinary clinic and client-centered. Our expectations of anyone in this role is to always be outwardly friendly and welcoming to every client that walks in the door or calls on the phone. The ability to learn new things, communicate effectively, and pay attention to detail are of the utmost importance. Qualities of a strong candidate will include:
- Upbeat and positive attitude with a friendly demeanor
- Enjoys interacting with people; personable.
- Comfortable and efficient working on windows-based computer systems
- Strong attention to detail with good prioritizing and organizational skills
- Desire and ability to learn new things quickly
- Be able stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time; ability to carry occasional large bags of food.
- Availability to work within business hours.
- Flexible schedule for daytime hours and rotating Saturday morning shifts.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
