About Artiva:

Artiva’s mission is to deliver highly effective, off-the-shelf, allogeneic NK cell-based therapies utilizing our Manufacturing-First approach, that are safe and accessible to cancer patients. Artiva’s pipeline includes AB-101, an ADCC enhancer NK-cell therapy candidate for use in combination with monoclonal antibodies or innate-cell engagers. Artiva is currently advancing a Phase 1/2 clinical trial of AB-101 in combination with rituximab for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphomas. Artiva’s pipeline also includes AB-201, an anti-HER2 CAR-NK cell therapy candidate for the treatment of HER2-overexpressing tumors, such as breast, gastric, and bladder cancers, and for which an IND has been allowed by FDA, and a pipeline of CAR-NK candidates targeting both solid and hematopoietic cancers. Artiva has entered into therapeutic NK cell collaborations with Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp. and with Affimed GmbH. Artiva’s AlloNK™ platform incorporates cell expansion, activation, and engineering technology developed by Artiva’s strategic partner, GC Cell Corporation, a member of the GC family of companies, a leading healthcare company in Korea. Artiva is headquartered in San Diego.


Job Summary:

The VP of Finance will lead the company's financial and accounting operations, while being a critical strategic and business partner to the CEO and leadership team in the creation and management of operating plans, financial projections, and budget management. The role will own budgeting, forecasting, and drive the monthly financial review process for the entire organization. The VP of Finance will also lead the Company’s accounting function and ensure that accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles. As the leader of the finance and accounting team, the VP of Finance will develop professional standards and provide growth and mentoring for internal team members.

What you'll do:

  • Lead Financial Planning and Analysis, including annual budgeting, scenario planning and monthly reporting; prepare and present routine reports to executive team, Audit Committee, and Board of Directors
  • Plan, design, direct and coordinate all accounting functions and related systems and internal controls
  • Support the CEO in financing endeavors and other corporate activities as required
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Payroll
  • Responsible for tax compliance, planning, and filings
  • Manage banking relationships and accounts
  • Manage relationships with insurance providers, lead the renewal process, and ensure compliance
  • Oversee hiring, training, and managing of finance and accounting team members
  • Lead projects to improve the operational and financial effectiveness of the finance department
  • Partner with People & Culture team in selecting and managing employee benefits; 401k administration
  • Key liaison for external auditors and internal/external legal team
  • Lead treasury functions, including cash management and insurance

What you will bring:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors’ degree; MBA or other graduate degree a plus
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in Finance/Accounting
  • Biotech experience required
  • Collaboration and M&A experience are each a plus
  • Technical accounting skills, or the ability to manage technical accounting resources
  • Strong systems, process and best practices experience
  • Highly influential and able to flex leadership style according to the situation
  • Excellent presentation, preparation and delivery skills
  • Decisive with a “big picture” perspective
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and to communicate with various stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as team player, including complex, dynamic teams
  • Ability to maintain demanding timelines
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work simultaneously on multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
