Vice President ? Finance Workholding Business Unit

The Vice President -Finance for the Workholding Business Unit (BU) is responsible for partnering with the Chief Financial Officer of Hardinge, and the President of the Workholding BU in driving all financial matters of the business unit, with a focus on the strategy and operational aspects of the business. This position will directly report to the Chief Financial Officer, with a strong dotted line to the President of Workholding BU.

• Desired Previous Roles: Previous role(s) as a business unit controller, VP Finance, Director of FP&A and similar roles and titles at businesses with revenues of $50+ million. Experience with global operational footprint required.
• Desired Industry: Industry experience working at a manufacturing company required, with prior experience working in manufacturing businesses producing capital equipment preferred.

The requirements for this position are as follows:

EDUCATION:

• B.S. / B.A. Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation (or local country equivalent if not US) or MBA degree required

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 10 years working as a professional in a corporate finance function in mid to large sized businesses (revenues between $100 million - $1 billion)
• Minimum 5 years at a Director or VP level
• Prior experience working for a global accounting firm (Big 4) preferred
• Demonstration of increasing levels of responsibility and experience managing professional finance staff

SPECIFIC TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES:

• Highly analytically, and driven to prepare and analyze financial reports, data sets and models
• Mastery level understanding of US GAAP Accounting principles
• Proven knowledge working with cost accounting methodologies and practices
• Adept and comfortable presenting to high level members both within and outside the organization
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work productively across the Company?s global footprint, including key operations in U.S., Germany, Switzerland, China, and Taiwan

RESPONSIBILITIES: Key responsibilities for this role are as follows:

• Partnering with the Corporate CFO and the BU President in developing and implementing the strategic plan for the business
• Preparing and overseeing the annual operating plan (AOP)
• Working closely with the BU President and key departmental leads in developing and updating rolling forecasts; building and improving forecasting models to enhance forecasting accuracy
• Driving the BU?s management reporting and analysis to ensure customer and product profitability is appropriately understood and maximized, and to ensure manufacturing operations can appropriately understand performance and adjust as necessary to ensure efficient operations
• Leading the review and managing revisions to cost accounting to ensure costing information is accurate and current
• Responsible for timely and efficient operation of the BU accounting and finance functions, production of financial reports and compliance with all established Corporate financial deadlines
• Overseeing the preparation and review of monthly financial and operating reporting packages and commentary for Monthly Business Reviews (?MBR?) with Corporate executive management
• Maintain an appropriately designed and effective control environment to ensure accurate financial statements and safeguarding of company assets
• Ensure appropriate finance structure and team members are in place to meet the BU?s business objectives, mentoring and training team members to ensure continued career development

Travel: Occasional travel required for the position, estimated to be 25%.
