Summary:
The position will play a critical role in the prospecting, qualification, and close of new business and the growth of current clients. This role will support the short- and long-term rare disease business development strategies in coordination with leadership against company-wide targets, as well as actively mine a new business pipeline and contribute to the development of the capabilities narrative to raise the profile of PANTHERx. This role is responsible for pull through of new drug product growth strategies and leading opportunities to bring additional profitable new drug product revenue growth to the organization. This individual will work closely with external industry partners and the internal PANTHERx Team for the tactical positioning and sales of the PANTHERx service model in rare disease opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Development
Leads the organization in developing and selling products and services leveraging current capabilities and envisioning new capabilities to drive revenue and EBITDA growth with respect to new drug opportunities for the organization;

  • Pharmaceutical Industry Subject Matter Expertise
Serves as key internal resource for rare disease subject matter expertise responsible for monitoring pharmaceutical industry activity and relaying this information internally to insure leadership awareness of headwinds and tailwinds pertinent to the growth of the organization;

  • Leadership
Creates, leads, and mentors the organizations pharmaceutical industry facing team to drive revenue and EBIDTA growth of the organization;

  • Sales and Marketing
Contributes to the organizational message to market activities by representing rare disease stakeholder point of view by active participation in a targeted strategy to increase organizational profitability while maintaining a comprehensive and cohesive company brand message; articulates the company’s mission concisely and can speak to internal and external customers at all levels; professionally represents the company in business interactions;

  • Actionable Insights
Supports and analyzes the rare disease business development strategy initiatives to contribute to the revenue and EBIDTA growth goals for the organization;

  • Organizational Cultural Support
Actively contributes to the positive culture of the organization providing supportive structure for future growth.

This individual will have specific responsibilities to include, but not limited
to:

  • Lead the team in pharmaceutical manufacturer facing business development activities at PANTHERx
  • Play a key role in the development of the LDD network as well as assessing the effectiveness of the program from a financial and service perspective
  • Develop and present responses to specialty questions within RFPs
  • Maintain a library of appropriate responses for future RFP questions and update as necessary to keep information current and accurate
  • Review, negotiate, and prepare limited/exclusive network pharmacy contracts with manufacturer partners
  • Offer consultative program design services to manufacturer partners during pre-launch phases
  • Attend industry conferences to network with existing and potential clients (Asembia, PCMA, NASP, etc.)
  • Assess pharmacy market trends, needs, and value drivers that present opportunities for PANTHERx to deliver improved affordability, choice, and engagement for patients and business partners
  • Oversee FDA pipeline research with a focus on therapies that have received orphan designation and implement strategies for manufacturer engagement
  • Provide New Business Pipeline Report which summarizes LDD business development, program profiles, and financial proformas
  • Develop and maintain operational standards for client implementations, reporting, auditing, billing and pricing
  • Assist in the development of specialty clinical programs that compares to and exceeds current competitor capabilities
  • Manage select product/program development elements as assigned to specified time schedules
  • Ensure operations support for Hub services, such as identifying, evaluating and/or supporting clinical opportunities that need to be built/defined
  • Deliver continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives for specialty drug processing, reporting, and invoicing within PANTHERx systems
  • Maintain specialty vendor relationships in alignment with PANTHERx network strategies for specialty including the communications and integration of PANTHERx's pharmacy offerings
  • Develop and participate in quarterly business reviews to key partners

Required Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree and 5 to 7 years of related experience in either healthcare management or clinical pharmacy
  • 5 + years of specialty pharmacy experience
  • Possess strong leadership skills, and be interested in growth and development
  • High level of independent judgment, individual initiative, and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a manner that is clear, logical and consistent
  • Orphan and rare pharmaceutical pipeline sales development experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or advanced business degree preferred
  • Significant experience managing and leading strategy engagements at a top tier specialty pharmacy
  • Experience supporting the research, design, planning, communication, and management of a corporate strategy
  • Experience working with pharma manufacturers, physicians, patients, and health plans
  • Thorough knowledge of financial, economic, and publicly available competitive marketplace data
  • Significant experience working across teams and managing relationships in a matrixed environment
  • Experience in operational improvement, change management, capability roadmaps, and/or program management
  • Prior experience in pharmacy or the healthcare industry
  • Prior experience using analysis tools or systems (ex. web based, custom, proprietary, etc.)
  • Experience in the implementation of quality process improvement efforts
  • Experience documenting requirements, creating training materials and working directly with end users.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Competency with customer relationship management tool use
  • Ability to manage deliverables in a high pace environment
