STEM Center USA provides virtual, hands-on coding classes for migratory students across California, Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, and Oregon. We are looking to expand our team by adding 8-15 instructors. No robotics or coding experience is necessary for this position. All new hires will go through a 20-30 hour training program prior to working with students. The Migrant Education Program works with students in K - 12th grade from regions such as Bakersfield, Los Angeles, Monterey, Santa Maria-Bonita, Riverside, and more. With over 3000 students and counting, we need your help to continue providing STEM education for migrant students.

• About the Migrant Education Program (MEP): This federally funded program is focused on providing migratory students with learning opportunities related to mathematics and english standards. STEM Center USA partners with 24+ regions and districts nationwide to provide students in K-12th grade with hands-on, STEM focused summer programs while also integrating core math and ELA/ELD concepts. Courses include an introduction to electronics, virtual reality, 3D modeling, and more. All programs are held virtually.

This application is the first step in applying for the Virtual STEM Migrant Education Program. STEM Center USA is excited to work with 4000+ students this summer from Arizona, California, Colorado, and Oregon. Summer programs typically run Monday - Friday between the hours of 8 AM PST - 5 PM PST. STEM Center USA's hiring process uses the following format:

1) Initial Google Survey (this link)
2) One-Way Recorded Interview (by invite only)
3) Live Interview with Current Migrant Lead Instructor (by invite only)
4) Final Live Interview with Manager (by invite only)

This position is unique as you will work with hundreds of students and introduce them to the world of virtual reality, game design, electronics, math, and coding. No robotics or coding experience is necessary, we will train you on this! The position includes:

Training Dates: May 15th, 2023 - June 2nd, 2023 (evening synchronous and asynchronous hours)
Work Dates: June 5th, 2023 - July 28, 2023

- Part-Time (~10 - 15 hours, Monday - Friday)
- Full-Time (~20 - 30 hours, Monday - Friday)

Hourly Rate: $25 - 35/hour
*hourly rate is dependent on your training and credentials.

Requirements:
- Fluent in Spanish. While the course is taught in English, instructors must be bilingual in case additional help is required to assist students with completing projects and activities.
- Must have access to a room/space that can be used to virtually teach classes using Zoom
- Must have your own laptop/technology that be be used to virtually teach classes using Zoom

Because these are part/full-time hours, we welcome those that may hold another job. However, you must be available for at LEAST one of the work options. Trainings are in the evening and we will work around your availability.

Who are we looking for: The ideal virtual STEM instructor is someone that is excited to work with students and introduce them to STEM concepts. No prior experience in coding is required, however experience working with children is recommended. Credentialed teachers looking for summer hours (up to 30 hours/week) are highly needed. In addition, we accept undergrad and graduate students, as well as working professionals. All applicants must be proficient or higher in speaking Spanish.

Candidate Requirements:

• STEM or Education Majors Preferred
• Must be bilingual - speak Spanish fluently
• Interest and experience working with students
• Available to work part-time to full time in Summer 2023

Pay Rate: $25 - $35/hour
