About Us
JOB SUMMARY
The Visit Eligibility Validation Coordinator will provide medical insurance verification of patient accounts to determine eligibility, benefits, and co-pays due and have the ability to analyze patient accounts for outstanding balances. This position covers both our outpatient and inpatient services ensuring that we bill appropriately and collect the maximum amount of money for the services we delivered. In Psychiatry we are all one service line. Must be detail oriented and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task in a high volume fast pace setting in the Psychiatry department.
Responsibilities:- Verify patient eligibility
- Determine patient’s benefits including deductibles, co-insurance, and co-pay amounts
- Verify if authorizations are required and obtain, if necessary
- Call patients prior to appointment if there is a problem with patient’s insurance
- Work hold bill and marked event alerts
- Determine what is needed for the upcoming visit ex: consent, arrival form, ID, insurance card, picture, etc.
- Work visit insurance and arrange FSC accordingly
- High school Diploma or GED
- Experience with insurance verification
- 1+ Years of customer service experience
- Understand insurance policies and processes
- Ability to utilize insurance websites proficiently
- Extensive knowledge of Centricity
- Eilgibility or scheduling experience, preferred
