Volunteer position - 20 hours weekly in exchange for free RV space. Must work well in a team environment outdoors and have excellent communication and customer service skills.

CAMPGROUND HOST POSITION DESCRIPTION RICHARDSON PARK & CAMPGROUND *Richardson Park & Campground* is located on the Fern Ridge Reservoir just west of the City of Eugene, and features 115 campsites in two loops, a marina and boat launch, a swim bay, playground, and large day use area with rentable picnic areas and shelters. The campground also features a complimentary dump station for campers, restrooms and showers in each loop and in the marina as well as restrooms in the day use area.

Lane County Parks is seeking several individuals or couples to serve as Campground Hosts. Up to four (4) positions are available for the summer season March 2023 - October 2023; Loop A Host, Loop B Host, Marina Host and Relief Host. Hosts are volunteers who live in the campground full-time and assist site Caretakers and Parks staff in the day to day operations of the campground. They are responsible for site management of campground, day use and marina, reservations and sales, providing a site presence and representing Lane County Parks.

Hosts receive a RV site with full hook ups (water, electricity and sewer) in exchange for working 20 hours weekly.

• 5 days on and 2 consecutive days off, while providing 7-day a week night time presence.

Position duties:

• Greet visitors, answer questions and be readily accessible to the public.
• Understand and explain rules to park visitors to encourage voluntarily compliance.
• Represent Lane County Parks in a professional and appropriate manner at all times.
• Manage and assist with reservations.
• Sell approved point of sale items; firewood, ice, annual and day parking passes.
• Ensure site safety and perform daily inspections of campsites, gates, restrooms, showers and other facilities.
• Perform janitorial duties as assigned per frequency and schedule provided by Lane County Parks.
• Perform grounds maintenance as assigned per frequency and schedule provided by Lane County Parks.
• Contact park staff or law enforcement personnel when emergencies or activities within the park area that warrant them. Provide a site presence and notify Lane County of emergency situations.

Qualifications and required experience:

• 18+ only
• Own an RV, camper or van conversation
• Strong customer service experience
• Ability to operate duties as assigned.
• Maintain a tidy host site and a professional, approachable appearance.
• Proficient experience in cash handling - preferred
• Proficient in email and basic computer skills - preferred
• Experience with janitorial and grounds keeping - preferred
• Long absence are not permitted.
• Once contracted, all Hosts must provide proof of personal auto insurance: $250/$500 bodily injury and property damage liability.
• Pass criminal background check
