We are looking for a VP of Marketing & Communications who has a vast knowledge of current marketing trends, including influencer marketing, to join our executive team. Our VP of Marketing & Communications should have a point of view across multiple topics: product portfolio, strategic direction, and acquisitions, to name a few. This position will have a view on customer needs, ever-changing markets, and how the ministry addresses those needs.
Our VP of Marketing & Communications will lead the marketing team as they implement plans and strategies to increase audience reach and engagement, branding, and advertising plans while working with the executive team to develop fresh initiatives in line with the company's goals. The ideal candidate for this role will manage all external marketing service providers and be the point person for marketing across the ministry.
This role is responsible for maximizing our brand’s market penetration and further establishing all Faith Life Ministries houses of brands as a place for people looking to donate, seek help, or gather information on the Kingdom. To ensure success in this role, we must have a highly organized person who is able to withstand the pressures of handling varied tasks at the same time and meeting various deadlines.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, build, manage and motivate the marketing team to develop fully integrated brand strategies that are aligned to support Faith Life Ministries vision and mission.
- Oversee multi-channel marketing plans and initiatives, including digital and traditional media spaces.
- Effectively leads all projects through completion within set deadlines.
- Works closely with our Legal staff to coordinate preparation and release of all external media interactions, including press releases and interviews
- Implement a functional marketing design that will promote the FLN brand and all our other brands, throughout the world.
- Build a network of reliable external agencies and marketing professionals.
- Conduct market research and stay abreast of ministry marketing positioning.
- Manage budgets.
- Research and select the most appropriate tools and services to equip the marketing team.
- Select and manage the appointment of outsides service providers when required. Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of all marketing activities (both internal and external).
- Grow and develop an in-house marketing team.
- Ensure social media tactics are optimized, make a measurable impact, and are consistent with overall marketing and brand strategy.
- Work closely with the Senior Management Team to build and execute external marketing/branding plans, as well as internal communication efforts to ensure quality control, content compliance, and brand consistency.
- Exercises operational control of all collateral marketing materials, ensuring fresh content.
- Proactively coordinate with our Legal, Development, Events, and Communications Teams to ensure content accuracy, responsiveness, and brand consistency, including the development of a library of video content.
- Manage website design, redesign, and content.
- Demonstrates the ability to Copywrite, copy edit and proofread.
- Recruit and oversee both employees and freelance workers.
- Manage/Coordinate with direct mail contractors.
- Create marketing and legal videos from concept to production.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- BBA in Marketing or MBA with emphasis in Marketing and/or Marketing Research Emphasis areas in Mass Communications (including e-commerce and B-2-B) or Brand Management a plus.
- 10+ years experience of leadership in a marketing/brand role
- In lieu of a college degree, we may consider 15+ years’ experience of leadership in a marketing/brand role.
- View the ministry marketing/branding role with passion and can articulate the mission and vision of Faith Life Ministries and all its house of brands.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Strong mental flexibility
- Stellar interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient with Google and Social Media Analytics.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other graphics and presentation software.
- Practical use of marketing research databases and general internet search methods
- Knowledge of website management/development and familiarity with SEO strategies
- Displays superior interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Works well dealing with teams in a flat organization, including legal staff.
- Strong negotiating skills and capable problem solver
- Ability to work well under deadlines and meet the mental and physical demands of frequent time-sensitive projects and campaigns.
- Ability to handle security-sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Attend one church service per weekend
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the non-profit arena is highly desirable.
