VP, Sales, Industrial & Hardware - Huntersville, NC

The Blueprint (Role Profile)

The VP, Sales, Industrial & Hardware Sales responsible for developing and deploying strategies to achieve sustainable, profitable sales growth within the industrial and hardware channels. S/he will manage and cultivate key, strategic relationships at the senior-most levels within the designated channels, while establishing a high-performing, metrics-driven sales culture through planning, analytics, training, and the implementation of new technologies and processes.

This position will report to the SVP and President, North American Hand Tools and will work in close collaboration with counterparts in Sales, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Finance and Human Resources. S/he will lead a team of Sales leaders and professionals across the United States and Canada to support sales into regional and national industrial and hardware accounts.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Partner with our executive and sales leadership teams to create Sales and channel strategies that align to key business objectives, including revenue and market share growth
  • Own the long-term strategy for Industrial & Hardware sales, managing sales plans, budgets, forecasts, results, resources, and reviewing adherence and progress for shifts/corrections
  • Work closely with Sales leadership to develop, implement, and iterate on strategies and tactics that result in meeting or exceeding annual growth targets, including gross margin improvement
  • Build and foster a high-performing, metrics-driven sales culture by developing and implementing an integrated sales cadence, forecasting process, and operating plan
  • Develop and cultivate key relationships within the assigned channels, focusing on top-to-top relationships with growth-oriented distributors and customers
  • Obtain voice of customer and understand product needs through site visits and attending industry-related tradeshows, relaying that information internally to key stakeholders
  • Partner with our Sales Training and Talent Management teams to identify and close training gaps in core competencies by creating and deploying training curriculums and content
  • Communicate vertically and cross functionally to encourage debate and invite diverse perspectives that drive better business outcomes through collaboration and innovation


The Toolbox (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline; MBA preferred
  • 15+ years’ experience in Industrial Sales & Marketing; industry experience preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience leading large Sales organizations and Sales strategy development
  • In-depth knowledge of and the ability to drive change management and transformation
  • Strong cross-functional business acumen and understanding
  • Ability to travel as needed
