Job description
The warehouse clerk position is responsible for transferring inventory; assisting customers at the will-call window; answering telephone calls; entering data; performing clerical duties; processing bills of lading; and providing forklift drivers with necessary information for product movement; order processing and inventory control; monitoring and verifying quality assurance hold inventory on a daily basis.
- Must be flexible for overtime and weekend work
Duties and Responsibilities:
Receive in purchase orders, transfer raw material from the warehouse to the plant, and allocate finished goods to pick tickets within the SAP system. Investigate and correct inventory errors and notify supervisors of any discrepancies. Log receipts into the product report by verifying amounts, product code dates and product numbers entering data into the computer system Prepare and process bills of lading for customer shipments; ensure product availability based on inventory levels prior to the allocation process; investigate and correct inventory errors and prepare handbills for outbound shipments. Assists customers at the will-call window by receiving product and/or packages; notify recipient(s) of package(s) received; direct drivers to appropriate locations for product pick-up or delivery. Receive and initiate phone calls to set appointments for deliveries. Performs other duties as directed by any member of management.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is highly preferred. Must be able to read and write and understand documents at a General Business level in a changing business environment.
Experience:
Minimum of two year’s experience in shipping and receiving is required. One year experience working with SAP is highly preferred.
Knowledge/Skills:
Job requires knowledge/understanding of shipping and receiving operations and office processes and must have the ability to organize and prioritize, and the ability to function efficiently in this environment.
Abilities:
Ability to use office equipment to include, but not limited to, computer, SAP software, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and related software/hardware, fax machine, copy machine, calculator and FedEx Power Ship. Must have the ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines. Position is subject to overtime, irregular hours, and changes in scheduled work days. Must have the ability to perform and meet the requirements of the job. Ability to work under pressure and stress.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
Work involves daily exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, darkness, and/or noise. Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness and humidity. Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical equipment, moving forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, and other factors in an industrial environment not listed. Position requires the ability to stand at the will-call window, sitting frequently at a desk, walking around office and plant, lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds, utilizing fine dexterity, reaching and kneeling on a daily basis. Also requires the ability to communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette. Personal protective equipment, as defined by Pioneer Flour Mills will be provided.
