POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibilities include preparing and maintaining a clean warehouse, loading and delivering materials; using different tools and machines, such as driving forklifts; operating lifts; and manning power tools. Laborers move materials, receive inbound freight, put away in discrete locations, pick and pack kits for job sites, ship outbound material and deliver to job sites. The Warehouse General Laborer position reports to the Warehouse Manager.

MAJOR DUTIES:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Moving, securing, loading, or unloading materials
• Assisting in the warehousing activities with a large range of scopes.
• Receive and check in material to inventory
• Perform cycle counts and physical inventories as needed
• Pick and pack kits
• Deliver materials needed per the construction schedule at different job sites
• Some specialized tasks may require on-the job training.
• Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the job/assignment
• Moving items from place to place, according to direction from the warehouse supervisor
• Must be certified to operate warehouse equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma/GED required
• 1+ years’ experience in a warehouse operation
• Ability to lift 50 plus lbs consistently in a construction environment
• Forklift certification and experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to successfully interact with multiple constituencies and diverse groups of people.
• Demonstrate independent, mature judgment
• Maintain a professional demeanor, even under stressful conditions
• State issued valid driver’s license with own mode of transportation
• May be required to travel to and from location to supply stores/ main office etc.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed as well as a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• The physical requirements of this position are related to a standard facilities or maintenance environment. Must be able to lift, bend, carry, move equipment and furniture, and use cleaning equipment and/or standard tools. Work is performed both inside and outside, requiring the ability to work under variable weather conditions. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to hear, talk, stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
