The Warehouse Lead will manage the day-to-day functions of De Nora Tech’s (DNT) multiple warehouses and shipping/receiving departments, providing guidance and instruction for shipping personnel. Will also monitor the department for areas to improve quality and performance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe operating environment within industry standards
- Responsible for inventory accuracy including management of cycle count program, root cause analysis of any problem areas and management of physical inventories
- Assist in training and implementing best practices
- Leadership of department processes and cross training within the department at both the Crile Rd and Mentor plant warehouses
- Ensure processes and procedures are properly followed
- Coordinates Warehouse Team to ensure coverage of dock hours at both Crile Rd and Mentor plant warehouses
- Partner with and support inside sales team, in driving safety, product quality, and on time delivery
- Generate reports from SAP for the Warehouse Team
- Coordinate materials needed from inventory for DNT’s manufacturing and vendor operations
- Make decisions and modifications where necessary to ensure execution of all customer requirements
- Lead LEAN & 5S principles and practices, search for and identify areas of opportunity for efficiency gains in inventory control
- Manage, develop, and improve department processes/procedures that empower the Warehouse Team to meet targets efficiently and safely
- Drive Continuous Improvement and total employee involvement in critical success areas by empowering employees to utilize Lean manufacturing tools
- Perform database inventory moves, receipts and issues
- Load and unload truck shipments
- Provide backup for other Sr. Warehouse positions
- Investigate causes of inventory inaccuracies and develop and implement corrective action plans
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in inventory control and shipping/receiving
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in ERP and/or inventory software – SAP or other ERP system experience a plus
- Ability to operate a forklift, or equivalent forklift certification
- Extensive knowledge of bills of lading, National Motor Freight Classification, Shippers Letters of Instruction, and other domestic and international shipment documentation
- Understanding of cycle counting and inventory organization issues
- Must demonstrate initiative and advocate best practices including 5S and Lean Six Sigma
- Funcitional proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Outlook email, Word
- Must have ability to prioritize work effectively, meet deadlines, and resolve conflicts with minimal supervision concerning assignments varying from routine to project related
- Must pay attention to detail and demonstrate strong organization skills
- Must exceed expectations within a strong safety culture
- Must demonstrate clear and effective communication skills
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, as needed
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelors or Associates Degree in a related field is preferred
- Training and certification from APICS, ISM, or equivalent is a plus
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher is helpful
