Job description
- Assist shift supervisors in pre-shift meetings and paperwork necessary during the shift
- Train employees in a safe and efficient manner on material handling equipment
- Plan and execute timely inbound and outbound deliveries, prioritizing resources
- Responsible for escalating any issues that arise during the shift, if necessary
- Ensure that employees are working safely, following all work rules, and that all required PPE are being worn at all times
- Act as backup Wave Planner when necessary; these duties include (but are not limited to) allocating orders, releasing work to the warehouse floor, and ensuring truck turn times are within acceptable levels
- Ensure that proper people are in the appropriate areas on the correct equipment to evenly complete work in queue
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or general equivalency degree required.
- One year of related experience is required. Previous lead or supervisory experience is highly desired.
- Experience in a role managing multiple priorities is highly desirable
- Experience with warehouse management systems is required. Candidates must have strong computer skills
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
- Regularly standing, walking, riding, carrying, twisting, bending, balancing, seeing, hearing, and handling paperwork.
- Regularly lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
