Position Overview:
Our Warehouse department is seeking to hire a Shipping Supervisor with at least 3 years of experience to join our Rochester branch. This position will oversee our B Shift/2nd Shift order selecting team. The hours are 1 PM-9:30PM, with overtime as business needs require.
As an essential business, our warehouse team is continuing to expand to meet the growing demands of our customers. The Outbound Supervisor is a team leader who oversees operations at the ground level, making sure that the rest of the team is accurately picking and shipping products.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee all warehouse logistics.
- Supervise and direct warehouse staff; ensuring worker safety is a top priority.
- Track and account for all incoming and outgoing products.
- Confirm proper and timely delivery of products.
- Perform various inventory counts; order supplies and goods as needed.
- Supervise all forklift operations.
- Maintain warehouse and machinery, ensuring equipment is serviced when needed and a clean and tidy workspace is kept at all times.
- Ensure that shipment materials match packing lists before dispatching orders.
- Assist in the hiring and training process of new warehouse staff.
- Ensure proper transport, packaging, and placement of products.
- Motivate and lead warehouse staff to effectively carry out given tasks.
- Abide by and enforce facility rules and state laws and regulations.
- Improve warehouse work processes through strategic planning in order to create a more efficient fulfillment system.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Qualifications:
- Previous counter/sales/warehouse experience, with at least 3 years of management experience in a warehouse position required. Experience managing up to 15 direct reports a plus.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required, bachelor's degree in business management or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
- Forklift certification and/or ability to successfully complete forklift training and operate machinery safely according to company protocol.
- Ability to operate and train on multiple types of material handling equipment (i.e. order picker, reach truck, sit down, yard forklift).
- Ability to adapt to process changes, implementation and formalizing documentation creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Suite and data entry systems.
- Ability to manage large volume of daily email/phone correspondence.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and handle multiple issues at the same time, without stress.
- Excellent organization and efficient time-management skills.
- Experience in a metric driven, performance-based environment including developing/initiating internal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Flexibility with schedule, as overtime is frequent as business demands.
- Must have reliable daily transportation to branch location.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Product knowledge with plumbing, HVAC, and electrical material highly desired.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- This job operates in a high traffic warehouse that is exposed to outdoor weather conditions. This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time as well as the ability to lift 50-75 pounds. While mainly standard hours are scheduled for this position, flexibility is required to be able to ensure all orders and job duties are completed by end of shift.
