Job description
C.H. Robinson is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor. As the Warehouse Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate daily warehouse operational activities ensuring efficient and high-quality service, while driving continuous improvement and ensuring cross-functional coordination to delight our customers. You will align staff and resources to ensure product movement activities meet customer service level agreements. In this role you will be responsible for the performance of a team with the objective of maximizing efficiency and profitability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee distribution and warehouse operations including safety, quality, cleanliness, 5S, continuous improvement, and inventory control
- Provide leadership, direction, and overall guidance to assigned functions
- Produce performance and customer reports while analyzing metrics for areas of improvement
- Ensure all customer service metrics are consistently met or exceeded
- Operate in an efficient and cost-conscious manner to ensure all budget objectives are achieved
- Manage receiving, picking, inventory, special projects, and/or shipping operations to ensure efficient flow and storage of materials
- Effectively communicate with management and across departments
- Maintain building perimeter security and uphold all CAA procedures and regulations
- Handle bonded import freight into the ERTS facility in accordance with HMRC regulations
- Develop and retain a well-trained staff with a goal of promotion through cross training and mentoring
- Provide feedback and coaching to assigned team and document activities related to attendance, performance reviews, and disciplinary action
- Ensure integrity and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information
- Teach and train assigned team in competencies and technical/functional skills
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of distribution/warehouse/logistics experience
- Certified forklift operator experience
- Must be able to work 1st shift hours with some weekends
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Supervisory experience
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic computer skills with exposure to Microsoft Office Suite programs
