Summary:
This role provides day to day processing functions associated with in-house Wealth Management Operations, including daily routine processing, reconciliations, financial accountings, and other projects as assigned. Responsibilities include a wide range of routine as well as some complex functions including but not limited to those listed below.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the operational component of asset onboarding: ensure transfer paperwork is in good order; upload transfer paperwork to custodian for processing; track progress of pending asset transfers.
- Monitor and maintain accurate shadow accounting data on the Wealth Management platform, including interaction and follow-up with multiple external custodians.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager in preparing and reviewing specialized town accountings, along with interaction and follow-up with the outside accounting firm
- Process and respond to various internal Wealth Management requests assigned through the ticketing tool
- Execute bill payment tasks as primary processor and/or secondary reviewer
- Post and maintain updates to the Wealth Management platform
- Perform various reconciliations: daily, weekly, monthly
- Assist with the gathering and organizing of audit documents as needed
- Enter the daily operations cash tickets to the retail banking system as needed
- Develop and update operational procedures, ensuring they are current and organized
- Provide back up to others in the Wealth Management Operations Team
- Work on projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree, in accounting or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience preferred, working at a bank, financial service or investment firm, trust/wealth management organization, or trust department within a law firm.
- Experience in financial service operations, applications/systems; exposure to wealth/trust accounting systems preferred.
- Meticulous attention to detail required
- Proven analytical and decision-making skills, with effective problem resolution.
- Ability to work well with others as a team player and as an independent contributor
- Capacity to prioritize, juggle a variety of tasks, and interact with colleagues at all levels.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically with spreadsheets, word processing and electronic mail applications.
- Strong computer, organizational and communication skills.
- Desire to work in an operations environment with a willingness to accept new assignments and to pitch-in.
- Established business ethic reflecting independence and job accountability.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Normal office environment.
- Ability to learn new systems.
- Frequent sitting and standing at a desk.
- Heavy keyboard use.
