Summary:

JEC Miller, Inc will be opening a new site in Burnsville, MN. This site will support four guys that love sports and music! They enjoy watching the Vikings and the Twins, listening to music, and playing music on the guitar. The age of the guys in this home ranges between 55-80 years old. They have varying abilities and needs. There are some high medical needs at this home, so the Certified Nursing Assistant should have experience working with individuals that have diabetes, colostomy bags, seizure protocols, etc. The CNA will need to be able to use their past medical skills and critical thinking to ensure the health and safety of the individuals in this home. Experience and ability to support lifts and transfers for the individuals is a must. The ideal candidate would be CNA or MA certified and ready to have some fun with a great group of guys! This is a new site so we have a variety of shifts and positions available that include Part time or Full time days, evenings, overnights, weekdays, and weekends. Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with Daily Living tasks (bathing, toileting, colostomy care, eating/ feeding, etc)
- Medication Administration (including insulin injections)
- Assisting individuals in participating in the activities of THEIR choice throughout the day
- Documentation on individual status and shift summary
- Coordination of care with other providers (attending appointments, ensuring follow up, etc)

Qualifications/ Skills:
- Experience working with individuals with diabetes and sliding scale insulin
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Experience passing medications
- Observant and knowledgeable about signs and symptoms of illness
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Passion for helping individuals and a person centered approach to service delivery
- Ability to pass a Background Study
