Your Responsibilities

As aOFP Weld Manufacturing Engineer Variable Shift, Entry Levelfor John Deere Harvester Workslocated in East Moline, Illinois, you will provide Weld Manufacturing Engineer support and basic trouble shooting for current welding operations on a multi - shift line. In addition, you will:

  • Lead team studies related to capacity, productivity & efficiency.
  • Lead team(s) to address quality issues by utilizing Root Cause Analysis & Mistake Proofing by gathering & analyzing data. Working with design, tooling, advanced technologies, maintenance & other functional areas to resolve issues.
  • Identify & implement Continuous Improvement (CI) projects (ie: cost reduction, quality, safety & product delivery)
  • Work with electronic tools to perform engineering functions. Examples are: ProE, WeldPRO, SAP, Wplanner, C-projects,etc.
  • Establish part routings, proper operating methods, documentation such as Mechanical Data Sheets, sequence of events, layouts, tool conception and design, part and equipment costs, quality plans and labor standards.
  • Program and troubleshoot robotic welding (ie: Fanuc systems)

What Skills You Need

  • Experience programming and troubleshooting robotic welding (ie: Fanuc systems)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing weld processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities.
  • Knowledge of capital budgeting and equipment justification.
  • Ability to work off-shift and weekends as needed.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with shop floor manufacturing and incentive pay systems such as Continuous Improvement Pay Plan (CIPP).
  • Understanding of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP).
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing through the John Deere Quality Production System (JDQPS) or similar Quality Production System.
  • Work experience in a union environment.

Education Details

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent**related**work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Weld Engineering/Technology Degree or similar discipline.
