As a Barclays Whole Loan Trading, Analyst, you’ll support the US Residential Whole Loan Trading desk in daily trading & risk management roles, calculating P&L & daily pricing, and portfolio analysis, surveillance, and other various projects. The desk is a client facing trading operation focused on secondary market trading on US residential mortgage loans. You’ll work with infrastructure partners from middle office, credit risk to product control in supporting activities related to trading book.

Salary / Rate Minimum: $110,000
Salary / Rate Maximum: $125,000

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. What will you be doing?

  • Supporting the trading desk with deal lifecycle activities related to US Residential mortgages from bid, acquisition, disposition, and securitization
  • Calculating daily P&L, risk exposures, hedges, and various other market driven metrics
  • Assisting in the marking of the WLT desk positions
  • Automating risk management processes using VBA, Python and Tableau in order to ensure a sounder and more efficient control environment to support scale
  • Working on enhancement of internal infrastructure and framework, including automation of processes and teamwork with various groups within Barclays
  • Engaging with infrastructure partners to maintain a sound control environment
  • Using your excellent data analytical skills and proficiency across Python or SQL to support the trading book

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics
  • One to two years of experience in financial services
  • A demonstrated interest in real estate or relevant coursework considered a positive
  • Exceptional analytical and logical reasoning skills and an ability to quickly learn and adapt to a changing trading and policy environment

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-pressure environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to drive franchise business, collaborating with Sales and Research
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Bloomberg, Intex Dealmaker

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 32-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
