Woodworking Product Specialist
Fast-growing Columbia, MO-based E-Commerce tool company is taking applications for a Woodworking Product Specialist to assist in product sourcing, development, testing, creating product descriptions, customer service and more.
General Responsibilities: You will aid with products and services including Product Line Management, Product Development, Product Testing, Product Descriptions, Product Demonstrations, Vendor/Manufacturer and Influencer Relationships, Customer Service, Online Catalog.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Product Selection: be able to assist in the selection of new products to include in our online catalogs, as well as source new products, components, and suppliers, culling the line.
- Product Development: assist in finding “gaps” in the market, analyze competitive landscape, develop, and bring new products to market, contribute to product design.
- Product Testing: have the ability and knowledge to test products as needed.
- Product Descriptions: be able to research and articulate (both verbal and written) the functions and specifications of a wide range of woodworking products, content generation for marketing.
- Product Demonstrations: have the knowledge and capabilities to show and demonstrate products.
- Work with sales and marketing to coordinate promotions and product launches
- Vendor, Manufacturer, and Influencer Relationships: Work with and develop relationships with our vendors, manufacturers, and influencers to become a choice contact for them.
- Customer Service: Provide technical support. Be able to answer customer questions, concerns, and complaints about the products, group presentations.
- Assist with management of the online catalog (i.e., Website and Third-Party Platforms).
- Assist with social media
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Thorough and in-depth knowledge of woodworking, woodworking tools and their application, both power and hand tools
- Able to work cooperatively as part of a team
- Ability to work independently while achieving goals and objectives
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal—are a must.
- Articulate and well-spoken with excellent phone and email etiquette.
- Photography skills preferred
- Video editing skills preferred
- Experience with e-commerce preferred
- Ability to monitor data-driven analytics with regards to product sales and ROI preferred
- CAD skills preferred

Opportunity for advancement is limited only by your performance. Starting pay is based on your experience. For the right candidate, raises can be as often as excellent performance is demonstrated. Also, if you demonstrate exceptional on the job leadership you may be eligible to participate in performance bonuses.
Starting pay is $22.00-$28.00/hr based on your experience.
