XP1K4 is five minutes of full throttle, turbo powered, mind bending off-road action! This time around, RJ Anderson lays down a massive barrage of gravity defying stunts in his highly modified 2017 Polaris RZR XP® Turbo EPS UTV. RJ fearlessly attacks massive jumps, whoops, high speed drifts, and treacherous rocky terrain. XP1K4 was shot in the stunning Southern California mountains east of San Diego as homage to the birthplace freestyle motocross. Tony Vanillo and his team of dirt and ramp engineers at Off-Road Management Group brought the insane obstacle course to life including the updated version of the treacherous “Wall of Death” and a massive ramp to dirt backflip.

Notable Feature: The re-birth of the Wall of Death. Bigger, stronger, faster and now with and exit plan!

April 18, 2017 – San Diego, CA – The most anticipated off-road viral video of the year – “XP1K4” launched today on UTVUnderground.com. The fourth installment of the wildly-successful film franchise features the driving skills of newly crowned 2017 UTV World Champion and three time off-road champion, RJ Anderson. The title sponsor Polaris RZR is joined by RIGID Industries, Rockstar Energy and BFGoodrich as supporting sponsors of XP1K4. UTVUnderground.com and motorsports production powerhouse Mad Media once again teamed up, and were led by the “The Martelli Brothers” who returned to direct the newest chapter. The XP1K4 media team hit the launch button this morning – distributing via Youtube and Facebook worldwide.

“For our fourth installment of the XP1K franchise, we went back to our roots, the mountains of Southern California – where freestyle motocross and freeriding were born. We built some massive stunts that were inspired by freestyle motocross, and required some pretty complicated engineering. That’s what it takes to continue to push the envelope and show people what the combination of RJ Anderson’s fearless driving skills and the RZR platform are capable of.” stated Co-Director Joshua Martelli.

“This one took a lot of work, but we wanted to do things that hadn’t been done before! I am stoked to finally share XP1K4 with the world, people are going to be blown away! I was happy to be back ripping in the mountains of Southern California, it’s our back yard. It’s crazy to think about all the stunts we put this RZR through!,” stated XP1K4 star and off-road Champion, RJ Anderson.

In XP1K4 Anderson pilots the all-new, Tony Vanillo designed, Carr One-built, custom 168-horsepower RZR XP Turbo EPS. Heavy modifications designed to meet the demands of the project include a Holz Racing Products suspension, front sway bar, front bumper, engine mounts and skid system. The dash cluster features the all-new RacePak iQ3 data-logger, Switch Pros Switch Panel, and Mob Armor Mount with iPad Mini designed for the RZR. Anderson will sit on a custom-made MPI/PRP Alpha containment seat and utilize a PRP 5-point harness and custom XP1K4 MPI steering wheel made specifically for the vehicle. Walker Evans Racing has returned and provides their industry leading shock and wheel packages including Walker Evans Racing: 15″ Beadlock Wheels, 2.5-inch Velocity Shocks and new Walker sway bar links. RIGID Industries supplied a host of LED lighting products including the new “Chase” rear-facing, multi-function LED light and the new Rigid “Reflect” LED all-in-one light/mirror. BFGoodrich, the biggest name in off-road tires, supplied their all-new “Baja T/A KR2” 30-inch UTV Tires, which provide superior traction and unmatched durability.
The heavily anticipated off-road viral video “XP1K3” was launched today via UTVUnderground.com. The third installment of the wildly-successful film franchise features the driving skills of three time off-road champion, RJ Anderson. UTVUnderground.com and motorsports production powerhouse Mad Media led by directing team “The Martelli Brothers” hit the launch button this morning after debuting the new video to a crowd of over five thousand at Polaris Camp RZR West, in Glamis, California over the weekend. The video launched worldwide today, in conjunction with the opening day of the Specialty Equipment Market Association trade show (SEMA). It is also premiering in a special screening area within BFGoodrich Tire’s SEMA booth, alongside one of the custom built XP1K3 RZR XP Turbo cars. Visitors to the BFGoodrich booth will have the opportunity to see the vehicle up close, photograph it, get signatures from RJ Anderson, and pick up a free XP1K3 shirt while supplies last.

XP1K3 is six minutes of full throttle, turbo powerd, mind bending off-road action! RJ Anderson fearlessly attacks massive jumps, high speed drifts, and treacherous man made terrain in his custom 200 horsepower RZR XP Turbo. XP1K3 was shot in the post apocalyptic dystopian decay of abandoned steel mills, old factories, and train yards and features an array of massive man-made obstacles spread out over six locations near Youngstown, Ohio. Tony Vanillo and his team of dirt and ramp engineers at Off-Road Management Group brought the insane obstacle course to life.

“For our third installment of the XP1K franchise, we put RJ in a variety of urban decay settings and created some incredibly challenging stunts. His car control for this chapter had to be spot on – and it was. There were no airbags to jump into or safety wires to catch him. RJ executed all of these stunts for real. This is not Hollywood! There is no CGI – lot’s of real smoke, but no mirrors! And no other machine on the planet can do what we dreamed up – it had to be a RZR. ,” stated Co-Director Matt Martelli.

The XP1K viral film series has accrued more than 16 million aggregate video views across YouTube, Facebook and Instagram so far, and has been watched in more than 70 different countries. The adrenalized, branded video campaign has made hundreds of millions of impressions worldwide, redefining the Sport Utility Vehicle (UTV) and Side-by-Side (SxS) market.

“I am stoked to finally share XP1K3 with the world! I think people are going to be blown away. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if I could pull off all of these stunts! It’s crazy to think we accomplished this all on the Polaris RZR platform,” stated XP1K3 star and off-road Champion, RJ Anderson.

The third installment of the XP1K series was shot in the post apocalyptic dystopian decay of abandoned steel mills, old factories, and train yards and features an array of massive manmade obstacles spread out over six locations near Youngstown, Ohio. The crew at Mad Media and UTV Underground came up with an insane obstacle course for us to engineer, but the collaboration turned out awesome and RJ Anderson executed all of the stunts like a pro.

Notable Feature: A stunt called the “Train Gap Jump” was created for RJ to jump over 5 train cars! This stunt had RJ jumping up an 18ft high ramp over a 90ft gap.

Location: Deming, WA

We were commissioned to construct a series of stunts to be filmed as a continuation to the first XP1K viral video. The minds at Mad Media this time took us to the woods of Northern Washington, where the terrain was unlike any other off-road track we had experienced. The setting was right in the middle of a logging yard which suited our needs perfectly as we had trees cut down and sliced to order when building our stunts.

Notable Feature: For this project we created a “Wall of Death” for RJ Anderson to take on. This was the first experience we had ever had with a 4 wheel vehicle completing the “Wall of Death”.

“XP1K2” is a seven-minute onslaught of intense off-road road action, set in a massive 600-acre forest near Mt. Baker, Washington. The video stars Off-Road Racing Champion RJ Anderson, driving a custom Holz Racing built Polaris RZR XP 1000 Side-by-Side (SxS), complete with a Polaris ProStar® 1000 Muzzys Performance engine and custom Walker Evans racing shocks. The “XP1K2” crew, including Tony Vanillo and his team of dirt and ramp engineers at the Off-Road Management Group, transformed the remote wooded location into a stunning array of creative obstacles, which included more than 20 natural terrain and man-made works of (terrifying) art. Spoiler alert – RJ Anderson reclaims the world record for a distance jump in a SxS – and does so by clearing a death-defying 100-foot gap!

More than a year of planning went in to the development and execution of the “XP1K2” campaign. It took the build team of 10, more than a month to carve out the heart-stopping playground as multiple obstacles featured hand built “ladder trail” which required two to three days each to weld, cover in wood and secure safely. The Mad Media crew of 40 then spent 14 days on location battling wind, rain, mud and fog to capture each of their incredible imagined obstacles.

“We wanted every stunt in “XP1K2” to be sketchier and more gnarly than our first video. Bigger jumps, bigger gaps, crazier driving…it was all about showing the viewer that RJ is constantly on the edge of disaster,” said “XP1K2” Co-Director and Mad Media CEO Matt Martelli.

The setting for “XP1K2” was no accident. The die-hard SxS enthusiasts that frequent the forums on UTVUnderground.com have been begging for something relatable (like a full blown trail video), since XP1K went live last year.

“When we discussed the vehicles Polaris was launching in 2015, it was obvious they were putting some love and attention back into their trail riding customers, and we thought it would be fitting to give a nod to that,” said Joey DiGiovanni, CEO of UTVUnderground.com. “Of course this video showcases some extremely dangerous stunts and we don’t want anyone at home to try to replicate them! But we’re very proud of the fact that we captured that feeling of ripping up and down trails at full speed – RJ and the boys at Mad Media have once again reset the bar!”

“XP1K2”
Next up on the “XP1K2” calendar is a Director’s Cut, which will include loads of extra footage not used in the main clip – cut to an over-the-top soundtrack.

“There was so much great footage from this shoot it was gut-wrenching to leave out all the incredible angles we captured stunt to stunt,” said “XP1K2” Co-Director/Editor and Mad Media COO Joshua Martelli. “We wanted to keep this edit fast, loud and fluid, and not fall prey to the over-produced slo-mo reprise style that so many videos feature these days. The best compliment we’ve heard so far was from our executive producers nine year old who said it felt like a video game! Perfect.”

An all GoPro clip and “Making Of” film are in the “XP1K2” post production pipeline as well.

El Centro, CA (May 7, 2014) – Marty Coyne, along with Off-Road Management Group has developed the freshly minted, Coyne Powersports Motorplex, the only privately owned motorsports complex in the Imperial Valley

Marty worked with SCORE International’s Roger Norman to bring SCORE back to Southern California in a big way with the Imperial Valley 250 (IV250) that took place on April 26th. With the IV250, Marty didn’t want just your run of the mill desert race, so he brought in longtime friend and CEO of Off-Road Management Group, Tony Vanillo to design and construct a state of the art facility. Marty shared his vision of the property with Tony and the two quickly began devising a plan for the one square mile of property that Marty has owned since 1994.

Marty and Roger had discussed a 7-9 mile infield section that would include a “real short course track” and spectator viewing area that would provide not only a great vantage point for watching the race, but also a higher standard of safety for everyone involved. An expansive VIP area was facilitated using an existing hill, dubbed “Jarhead Terrace” due to the fact that all the dirt for the hill was brought in to the property for the filming of the movie “Jarhead” in 2004.

“When I came out to meet with Marty and he shared his vision with me, I studied the quality of the dirt on site and immediately went to work on a design,” stated Tony Vanillo.

Working closely with Roger Norman, Marty and Tony came up with an infield area that provided both great viewing and safety opportunities for not only spectators, but also for the racers and crews.

Marty went on to say, “I am very happy with how things came together here and to be fortunate enough to work with Roger to bring SCORE back to So Cal. The future is wide open here and we are looking forward to bringing more events to the Imperial Valley. Without the support of many folks working behind the scenes on bringing this event together, it would have never happened.”

Designed and Built: March 2014

Location: Gene, NV

The purpose of this build was to create a more entertaining spectator area for the patrons of the world famous Mint 400 off-road race. We cut out a feature short course area of the track situated in front of the spectator VIP areas. Drivers would take one lap of the short course track and then head back out into the desert portion of the track.

Notable Feature: This track included a small drop off leading into two challenging jumps directly in front of the VIP viewing section.

We were commissioned to construct a series of stunts to be videotaped and released as a viral video for the new XP1000 Polaris UTV. All of the stunts were constructed at abandoned steel mine which made for some exciting shots for the video, but also created some technical difficulties during the build.

Notable Feature: During this event, driver RJ Anderson broke a world record for the longest UTV jump on record at 129.75 ft.
