Axiom Studio
The Axiom Studio, located at NE 6th and Davis, is a team of creatives responsible for delivering extraordinary design solutions for retail marketing, brand activations, permanent environments, fixtures, and more. As designs are brought to life, the Studio team works in tandem with our fabrication facility to produce exceptional custom builds. The Role
The 3D Designer develops unique, original designs and visualizations for a wide variety of brands, environments, and products. They excel at client work and managing multiple projects simultaneously. They are responsible for visuals, presentations and mechanicals for print and fabrication. They collaborate with account, studio and production teams, and help select vendors to ensure the success of creative projects.
You
You are a pillar on the design team with a passion for all things design and you thrive in a fast-paced team environment. Someone who owns their projects, an expert at proactively self-managing their time and supporting the team to achieve creative goals on a per project basis. You quickly digest a brief, problem-solve, and visualize the 3D execution of 2D graphics and direction. Your understanding of building materials, fabrication processes, and tools guides you. You understand target audience needs, design trends and production limitations, and apply them to the creative process, using team resources to achieve creative goals. You not only act as a role-model to other designers, but also as a representative of Axiom in the design community. Beyond work and strategizing with the Studio team, you also work with shop teams to create inspirational and feasible design solutions. To further develop your design skills and sensibility, you enjoy researching and exploring current design, art, sculpture, and technology. A curious learner, you are keen to investigate and experiment with new digital and manual processes for both designing and presenting.
Experience
Experience in architectural, experiential, product, or theatrical design. Experience designing for retail, and understanding both the sum and individual parts. Nonessential skills and experience: hands-on/physical shop and manufacturing experience.
Tools
Fluency with 1) 3D modeling and rendering tools: SketchUp, V-Ray, and/or 3ds Max 2) Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and 3) Apple Keynote and/or other dynamic presentation tools.

You know you’re succeeding when 1) you’re meeting deadlines with truly quality work 2) when your peers consider you collaborative, communicative, and they depend on you. And of course, when the clients are thrilled and keep coming back for more.
