Marsh is seeking candidates for our Remote Accounting Administrator (Staff Accountant) position

Our Accounting Administrators are responsible for accounting, regulatory compliance, project management, and administrative functions for a portfolio of approximately 6-12 captive insurance clients, determined based on the size and complexity of the insurers assigned. Because the insurers we manage are primarily owned by their policyholders – most often medium and large entities – they are considered “captive” insurers in the industry.

We will count on you to:
Preparation of financial statements in an accurate and timely manner.
Reconciling cash and investment accounts.
Initiating cash disbursements.
Assisting with audit and actuarial activities.
Preparing regulatory filings including annual reports and premium tax returns.
Assisting with ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable insurance laws and regulations.
Assisting with periodic examinations by various insurance departments.
Assisting with policy issuance and associated documentation.
Invoicing and collection of premium.
Tracking and reconciling claims activity.
Obtaining documentation for reinsurance programs.
Maintaining client files in accordance with applicable standards.
Support client development and relationship management
Maintaining availability for special projects.
Monitoring and documenting team and client activities to prevent and detect problems.
Preparing memos and other correspondence.
Corresponding with and coordinating the activities of other service providers.
Maintaining client and office applications and databases.
Investigating outstanding issues on client accounts.
Preparation for, and participation in, client meetings including periodic meetings of the board of directors.
Attending conferences of the applicable insurance associations or other educational seminars as appropriate.
Performing other job-related duties as they come up or are assigned in order to support the business plan objectives of the insurers we manage.
What you need to have:
Associate's degree along with demonstrated completion of core college-level accounting courses: Accounting I, Accounting II, Intermediate Accounting I, Intermediate Accounting II (or equivalent)
Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Ability to work an 8-hour shift within the hours of operation and overtime as needed; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday-Friday
What makes you stand out:
Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
1+ years of experience in an office environment preparing financial statements
Insurance industry experience

The applicable base salary range for this role is $35,300 to $67,800.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
